SuperLady Sunday Check-In: A Week Alone

Note: This check-in is inspired by LeighAnn over at The Frugal Ima who is totally awesome and basically my favorite person who lives in Ohio who I've never met in real life. Check out her blog, it has lots of great and cute stuff on it. I'm adopting her Sunday Check-In in an attempt to at least assure myself one post per week.

This week, I was without my beloved Hazz, the love of my life, the sweetest guy I know.  The Hazz was at the Cantor's Convention, the annual gathering of cantors of the Conservative Movement.  I'm happy that he got to go, and of course I wanted him to go.  For him and most of his colleagues, the Convention is a combination learning experience, get-together with friends, and safe space to discuss their jobs and the challenges of them.  It's not easy doing what he does every week, living in the synagogue's house (it's lovely, but we're four house from work!), and being a public leader.  The Hazz is amazing, does a great job, and deserves every accolade I can give him.  Plus, he's just so darn cute.

We're off to Madison today to visit my brother.
You TOO can get a darling picture
like this one at the UW Union Terrace.
With him being in Toronto (out of the country, out of cell phone capabilities), I was left to myself all week.  As I mentioned in last week's Check-In, I messed up my back Sunday (most likely picking up one of the cutest toddlers I know).  However, it didn't keep me down too much.  I baked.  Boy did I bake.  On Monday, due to some overripe bananas, I made muffins and Banana Chocolate Chip Challah which you can see on my challah blog. Tuesday, I cooked tacos. Wednesday, I went to a friend's house and hung out with her two darling little girls and then had some girl time with the mom. Thursday, I bought my first new pair of jeans in around five years (after going on a skirt only hiatus, I was afraid of new jeans. These new jeans are AMAZING.)  It was quite the single girl week, much like how I spent my weeks before The Hazz and I got married... cooking and shopping.  Woops...

Interesting note, I accidentally spent the entire week drinking decaf and was FINE. Seriously, I think I could probably quit if I wanted.  Luckily, I definitely don't, so I'm not going to... but after managing to mix up the bags of decaf and regular coffee, grind up the decaf, and drink it all week, I did just fine.  In fact, I sort of felt like I was having heart palpilations on Shabbat morning after having some regular.

So, that's my check-in.  A lonely week.  I sure am glad The Hazz is back.  How was your week? You're doing great -- and you look great, too!

  1. A busy week here at Beit Frummie. We put our house on the market, which has increased my daily to-do list sevenfold. Otherwise, every is, B"H, healthy and happy.
