SuperLady Sunday Check-In: Toward Clarity

sunday_checkin2
Note: This check-in is inspired by LeighAnn over at The Frugal Ima who is totally awesome and basically my favorite person who lives in Ohio who I've never met in real life. Check out her blog, it has lots of great and cute stuff on it. I'm adopting her Sunday Check-In in an attempt to at least assure myself one post per week. Maybe I can do a few more themed days. Any ideas?

I haven't been sleeping. I've been up late, reading and rewriting a few of the historical fiction novels I've begun, put away, and started up again for the past ten years (one of them since 7th grade, can you believe that?). It's actually a sort of ridiculous trip down memory lane, remembering all of the nights spent in the basement of girlfriends' housing writing novels (we each wrote our own, journal style to begin with before we graduated onto narrative prose--we were really into Dear America... love!) and giggling over all the ridiculousness. (Most of my main characters got their first kiss before I did... oh to be in middle school again... actually no, that was a pretty unpleasant time...)

So, regardless of how amusing and productive this whole lack of sleep thing is, it's still annoying and it's still frustrating.

That said, I do feel like a few weights have been pulled off me. My long term goals are starting to solidify and I'm lucky that the hubs couldn't be more supportive. The whole Ph.D. plan is starting to fall a little more into place with a bit more clarity and a lot of support from my Master's faculty who I am so lucky to have. It's going to be an adventure, but it always is, right? More on that later...

So, that's it. LeighAnn always ends her check-ins with "You're doing awesome." So I'm ending this one with, "You're doing great -- and you look great too!"
