SuperLady Sunday Check-In: Airport Edition

sunday_checkin2
Note: This check-in is inspired by Leigh Ann over at The Frugal Ima who is totally awesome and basically my favorite person who lives in Ohio who I've never met in real life. Check out her blog, it has lots of great and cute stuff on it. I'm adopting her Sunday Check-In in an attempt to at least assure myself one post per week.

Greetings from the airport. My Sunday check-in is brought to you exclusively by my thumbs. I am sure I could have planned better and actually typed it out yesterday but at least this is wasting a bit of time. I'm sleep deprived and feeling a little sick (and I haven't even boarded the plane yet) but oh well :) I am so so so excited to be taking this plane and flying out to a dear friend's wedding in Detroit! She made a real effort to come back to town for our wedding so I am very glad to make this 36-hour trip.

Things are overall very good and very interesting over here at our little nest. The garden is planted and seems happy under Sven's watchful eye. I accompanied a friend and her two-year old daughter to our JCC water park this week which was beyond fun. A dear camp friend of The Hazz was visiting us this Shabbat along with his wife. It was so nice to have guests and it was so nice to have more young people at services.

The real news, however, is that quite shortly I will be leaving my office job to return to school! I am so excited to be returning to musicology/music history. It is such a strange thing being away from school for two years and finding what I truly missed the most was academia. While performance and the clarinet have been, are, and will alwas continue to be a huge part of who I am and what I love, it is music history that I miss. It is unwrapping music, talking about it, and gaining a deeper understanding of music in culture and as culture. I feel like I am going home.

My airplane is about to take off so I am going to leave this post dangling a bit and fill in more details soon. :) How was your week???
